Care of Colocasia Aloha :
In the spring, pot your rhizome in well-drained soil. Place the potted Colocasia in a warm and bright place. Limit watering until the first shoots are visible (the soil must not dry out). After leaves start to form, you can start giving more and more water. As soon as the night frosts have disappeared, you can place your Colocasia tree outside. In the beginning, we recommend that you avoid direct sunlight and first let the plant harden off/get used to it. You can leave your Colocasia in a pot or place it in the ground, a bank spot near a pond is often ideal.
At the end of summer you can let the plant settle down and no longer fertilize. Your Colocasia will die back towards autumn. Once the plant has calmed down, you can remove the rhizome from the soil. You carefully brush it clean and remove dead plant remains. Store the rhizome in a cool, dry, dark place.
