At the end of summer you can let the plant settle down and no longer fertilize. Your Colocasia will die back towards autumn. Once the plant has calmed down, you can remove the rhizome from the soil. You carefully brush it clean and remove dead plant remains. Store the rhizome in a cool, dry, dark place.
